You Deserve Extra: Medicare Benefits You Might Not Know About

Depending on your Medicare plan, you may have access to additional care and service options.

By Clover Health

Here's a look at some of the benefits you may have access to (depending on your plan) to make the most of your Medicare.

Dental, Vision, and Hearing Coverage

Some Medicare Advantage Plans (Part C) offer extra benefits that Original Medicare doesn’t cover, including dental, vision, and hearing. Clover Health, for instance, offers plans that include coverage for these services. Before you make an appointment with a dentist, eye care provider, or a hearing doctor, check your coverage for these extra benefits.

Telehealth Appointments

When an in-person visit with your doctor isn’t an option, you might be able to have a telehealth appointment. Many plans, including Clover Health, can connect you to a doctor or nurse practitioner on a phone call or video conference.

Savings on Everyday Health Items

Depending on your Medicare plan, you may be able to save money on over-the-counter (OTC) products like bandages, vitamins, pain relievers, allergy tablets, and thermometers. At Clover Health, all plans include allowances for OTC items

Fitness Programs

Original Medicare doesn’t cover gym memberships or fitness programs. But if you have a Medicare Advantage plan, you might be able to take advantage of gym memberships and fitness program.

This fitness and wellness program is offered at no extra cost as part of eligible Medicare plans. Enjoy in-person classes at participating gyms as well as on-demand videos and live online workshops.

To help you understand what you will pay for any care or service, please refer to your Evidence of Coverage or call your plan. Clover Health members can call 1-888-778-1478 (TTY 711)
